Workshop in the Series Digital:front – Wikipedia and AI: Is it a Match?
This event is part of the workshop series mentioned above. The DSI Community Libraries invited Diego Hättenschwiler, a Wikipedian, and Shana Marinitsch, a representative of Wikimedia CH. The workshop consists of two parts. In the first part, they provided input on AI and Wikipedia. This part highlights some problematic use cases in which generative AIs are used to automatically generate or translate Wikipedia articles.
The second part is designed to address this issue. Presenters and participants consider the following questions: when are AI tools useful for editing Wikipedia, and how can they be used? To this end, we created some fictional Wikipedia articles and tested various AI tools.
